The weekly tender is run from the Front Shop only. It includes items that are antique or collectable, quirky and oddball, brand new or expensive to buy.
How it works
Items are placed in the tender system for one week only and once entered, can not be sold off the shop floor. Anyone interested in an item must complete a bidding form and leave their name and phone number, a description or name of the item they are bidding for and how much they are offering. As this is a secret tender, the form is then placed in a sealed container. Bidding closes at the end of trade each Wednesday with successful bidders notified the following day.
Items are available for collection from Thursday once the successful bidder has been notified. For larger items like furniture, the winner has one week to pay for and collect their item. This is increased to two weeks for smaller items.
All items need to be paid for at the time of collection. Payment can be made by cash or eftpos, credit will not be accepted.
Items that do not sell may be advertised on Trade Me, under the account name ‘Nelsonrecycle’. However, there are times when there are no items listed on the site.
