The ReUse Shops started in 1992, humble beginnings from a tiny shed!
Previously known as the Nelson ReUse & Recycling Centre, we have since grown to become a well-known local facility and affordable Nelson op shop that keeps resources in circulation & out of landfill.

We’re a Community Non-Profit
Did you know that we’re a charity op shop?
The revenue from our thrift shop helps to support our other charitable programmes, such as Kai Rescue.
When you shop & donate secondhand items to our op shop, you are helping to feed our community, plus preventing things from going needlessly to waste in landfill.

Buy Secondhand Goods
We have two op shops at our Nelson site - the ‘Front Shop’ and the ‘Back Shop.’ Both of our shops have a wide range of secondhand items available for sale, including: furniture, building supplies, bicycles, manchester, clothing, homewares, sports equipment, electric appliances, books, and so much more.

The Auction
Our in-house Auction is run from the Front Shop for thrift shop & second hand items that are antique or collectible, quirky, brand new or expensive to buy. Anyone interested can place a silent bid using our digital bidding system in store.
Bidding closes at 3pm every Wednesday and items can be collected and paid for by cash/eftpos in the store on Thursday.

Drop off & donate goods.
Clear your clutter and donate your unwanted things!
You can help support our charity shop at 6 Vivian Place, by dropping off your used items, free of charge. We ask that items be of reasonable quality & suitable for resale, which is at the discretion of our staff.
All items are dropped off at the Back Shop, just past the public recycling drop off area. Please note that we are unable to accept safety items such as life jackets, car safety seats, & seat belts as we cannot guarantee their condition.
Collection & Delivery Service
Available for furniture & larger items.
There is a charge for this and arrangements must be made in advance.
