Are you passionate about the environment? Are you keen to get involved in a local organisation that has a real impact? Consider volunteering or contributing some time at the Nelson Environment Centre.

We offer a friendly and supportive environment where your time and skills will be valued, contributing to the mission of the Nelson Environment Centre to create a truly sustainable Nelson Tasman.

Volunteers have been involved with the Centre since it began in 1976. Today, we welcome volunteers to help us manage our Kai Rescue and Electronic Waste recycling service. Maybe you have other skills that may be useful in ways we have not thought of!

You may like to support the development of the centre for the benefit of the whole community. We are also developing a ‘Volunteer Crew’ of people that can help with one-off events and short-term projects as we expand in the future.  Examples include helping with tree planting days, Bike Fix up Day or a beach or river clean up.

If you would like to enquire about regular volunteering or contributing on a short-term basis, please email us at volunteer@nec.org.nz or telephone the Volunteer Coordinator on 03 545 9176.

We look forward to hearing from you!
